Vampires are immortal humanoid creatures with unnaturally fast reaction times, mind control abilities, and the ability to transmute into bats. They depend on human blood to survive and are immensely vulnerable in sunlight. They comprise about 10% of the human population.

Vampires can be born, although their reproductive cycle is extremely slow. Alternatively, a human can voluntarily opt to become a vampire at the hand of another. 

A blood tax would be a policy in which every human donates a monthly quota of blood. This blood is then distributed for free to vampires.

In Singapore, the "Mother Tongue" law mandates that all Singaporeans learn two languages in school: English, which everyone learns, and a 'mother tongue', determined off ethnicity. Chinese Singaporeans learn Mandarin, Malaysian Singaporeans learn Malay, and Indian Singaporeans learn usually Tamil, but can apply to learn another approved language from their family's home region (usually Bengali, but often also Hindi, Urdu, etc.). Mixed-ethnicity children can apply to learn the 'mother tongue' of either of their parents. All mother tongues are promoted as a valuable way to connect to your community.

For the purposes of this debate, Gnosticism is the religious position that the material world is a prison for the soul created by an evil god.

The Bullingdon Club is a private men's dining society at the University of Oxford primarily made up of graduates of the most prestigious English public schools like Harrow, Eton, Winchester and Rugby. The club is notorious for displays of wealth, in which members vandalise whichever restaurant or pub they have just eaten at, tipping over tables, smashing plates, glasses, lights and windows, before immediately offering large sums of cash to the owners as compensation.
